Nigeria a time bomb revolution
The menace and security challenges that have been posed by Boko Haram has been a long time coming and at this point in our national history, it can be seen as a victory over Nigeria. It not only is a victory but equally an embarrassment to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and the entire political structure that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presented to us. We have become a laughing stock to ourselves where leaders who should tackle an issue fail despite the boast of experience and history.
How do you explain that President Buhari despite his boast and bragging on the campaign trail, Boko Haram still comfortably walk into schools and go away with innocent girls? What happened to that statement he made some years ago, “who the hell is Boko Hara”’, he asked newsmen. Of what use is the experience of being a General in the army, fighting in Nigeria during a war and equally achieving great feats doing it if a bunch of terrorists cannot be handled, that is to say, if Buhari was woefully inadequate to keep Nigerians save, then nobody can?
Can Boko Haram not boast of being advanced more than the Nigerian security architecture? How do you explain that a missile was dropped on an Internally Displaced People’s (IDPs) camp sometime back? What kind of intelligence reporting do we do? Are we making progress or simply retrogressing yet someone like Lai Mohammed the Information minister will come and tell Nigerians that Boko Haram has been technically defeated. What technical defeat still allows for a successful operation like detonating a bomb, deploying suicide bombers, planning a journey to a school in Yobe State and abduct students in Dapchi? has this political game of ethics tribe turn the whole country into a thing of play so to say zoo country? how do we rate a statement from President Trump “shithole country” ain’t we? no wonder we could not defend the word shithole country. The embarrassment should be globally ranked as the worst any government can create for her people.
This government of the APC has failed completely in fulfilling their promise of ending Boko Haram, terrorism and hardship. are we saying no party should be trusted anymore, PDP era was a thing of the past with Boko Haram, terrorism and hardship even as it continues. 2019 election is on the way, we have seen parties holding meets and planning to gain power in the Government all in the name of politics. why are we fools to ourselves? A Government inability to gather, analyze, process, pass across and communicate information to Nigerians on key issues is a major embarrassment. We cannot keep having a government tell us one thing while we experience something else on the streets of Nigeria. Information is key and for a democracy that should be built on the will and regard for the people have to fulfil his campaign promises. Nigerian government continue to fail woefully which mean we should accept a saying from President Trump during his campaign that “Most of these African countries ought to be recolonized again for another 100 years because they know nothing about leadership and self-governance”. If Nigeria as a government, a supposed African giant and the worlds’ most black nation cannot understand the rudiments of our challenges let alone solving them, then whoever is in-charge needs their tenancy revoked. At this point, the Nigeria Government continue to fail in that regard.
Nigeria is more threatened now than ever, is this the democracy we ask for? we do not have good remarks of democracy from inception and we say our so call leaders Abdulsalami Abubakar, Ibrahim Babangida, Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari who are still living leaders, is this not the foundation they laid?. All we could reckon is our rich and wealth acquisition our past leaders have attained leaving the nation with the increasing suffering, economic hardship, unemployment and joblessness of young people; there is no reason why they would not find a justification for crime or to take up arms even when police are not well trained, lack police skills to protect the people let alone army enforce to borders and city to protect the people from Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen attacking and terrorising the nation.
Our borders are porous and not well manned. How do you explain that the army owns up to having redeployed the soldiers in Dapchi to the border between Nigeria and Niger only for the terrorists to come after the 110 girls who were abducted by the armed Boko Haram?
This simply means that Boko Haram so as wretched and piteous they seem to appear had superior intelligence more than our army under this government of President Buhari.
